I'm new to big pumpkin growing inspired by Nicksbigpumpkin. We are a little late to the season but we finally got our little babies outside. Of course now we are having a heat wave temps into the mid 90s here in Connecticut USA. I'm not sad that it gave me an excuse to buy these adorable garden umbrellas to protect the little ones from getting scorched!

All the pumpkin plants made it through the heat wave. (I am sad I dont need the cute umbrellas) New protective cages in place. 2 plots for the 150 challenge set up. The babies are getting so big! :) Thanks Nicks Big Pumpkin for the seeds and all your excellent advice getting me started.

We got through a heat wave then 1.75" of rain over the holiday weekend. Weather is looking good for the next few days lots of sun! These two are showing the most promise.
