Just realized that the 2145 was grown in the year 2015 and i purchased it the winter auction of 2016 so it wasn't sitting refrigerated for quite 6 years. Hoping for a new PB with this beast this year :)

2145 McMullen at 3.5 feet. Little bit of flagging going on but its leaves are huge and it was 40 deg c inside today. Temps got a bit out of control on me. Not worried at this stage as the plant seems fine so far :)

Lost my first pollonation on the 1844 Holub plant so i have another one pollonated at approx 24ft and its the same cross (1844 Holub x 2145 McMullen ) June 27 pollonation so its only 3 days old. This plant started out a bit slower but man is it moving know. The main vine has about 8ft left ant it will be terminated at about 36ft as i only have 40ft to play with. Secondaries are not far behind. Tremendous root system on this 1844 plant. Hoping to get this squash to the finish line as i would really like to play with these genetics in the future :)

1844 Holum plant again. As you can see from the pic this plant is stubborn as faaak . Vines never want to lay down

Saturday, July 4 View Page
Since both greenhouses have been amended the exact same way and the 2145McMullen will lay down with absolutely no trouble at all it looks like the 1844 plant has high tugor pressure. The squash is only 7 days old and is slower than the 2145 pumpkin but the weather has been cloudy and cool over night for the last 3-4 days
