Well what a year! Could have been better could have been worse. But all in all it ended ok today at Allardt. Had a great time and as always enjoyed seeing all my growing friends. I lost my best of 2 melons that I had left after a terrible start to the year but at least I had a back up to weigh. 170 grown from the 350.5 kent, dangit I wish I would have brought my speedo for this pic!

I guess the highlight of my year has to be my first time growing giant green beans. These were very popular in the neighborhood and lots of folk would drive down the road real slow to check em out. Lots of fun and can’t wait to try again next year. 127” terry is a new Tennessee state record grown from 149 Checkon.

But the best part of the day was seeing ol dad win Allardt and get to ride in the parade, something he has dreamed of since starting this hobby! New site record! 1731.8!!! He also weighed an exhibition that was second heaviest at 1697.8 earning him enough with his 3 kins to be cloaked with a GPC jacket, woot woot!!! Congrats dad, you deserve it!!!
