The end of my 2261. Which is my plant that is growing straight out has a weird shaped vine at the end. Pretty cool though. Thought I would share. Not expecting much out of this plant.

Here is the 2269. Starting to look pretty good. I am still trying to figure this out and I think I over fertilized this guy and he is starting to recover.

Crazy weather. We have not had a drop of rain in two weeks. All the sudden we receive a blast from Mother Nature. 2.5 inches of rain in ten minutes with hail. I hope she will survive and not get too stunted. A day or two from pollinating.

I thought I would share this is my 2261 he mutated into a ribbon vine and is forming females all over. Real weird configurations I am keeping it alive , basically just watering it. Not expecting anything from this guy.

This is my 2416 Haist. I pollinated this plant 4 days ago. My plan is to do a second pollination. Probably tomorrow. Can’t really recover from the hail last week but it is growing pretty good right now.

Thought I would share the arches I build to help relieve stem stress. Mind you my biggest pumpkin is 851 so I have a lot to learn on the fertilization and soli end, but I have always had real solid stems.

Tuesday, June 30 View Page
Once arch is in place I put sand down with 6/7 boards down to support the pumpkin as it starts to grow. As the pumpkin gets bigger, I pick up the pumpkin and remove a board and set it back down.

As pumpkin starts to gain size it will lay down onto wood. I will try to take a picture every time I move a board. Hopefully will have them all gone in next 20/24 days or so.

Here is my 2416 Haist crossed with my 2517 Haist. This pumpkin is now 15 days old and I have already removed several boards to keep the stem stress free. Still real early in its development. I also put a tent over my pumpkin to help keep the sun off of them and to keep them safe. Probably not the best choice because I loose some sunlight to the leaves right around the pumpkin. I just want to break the 1000 Pound mark this year. Happy growing.

Day 23. The 2416/2517 Haist is 208 OTT. I hope I can do this awesome seed justice.

Monday, July 27 View Page
I recently had two pumpkins get some holes in them. Look like a bird. Not really sure. I sprayed it with alcohol and made up a paste of capatan a water. I spread it over the tiny punctures hopefully that will do the trick.

I have not shown this pumpkin. It is the smallest of my three I weighed at 781.5 pounds. I just purchased a 3000 pound crane scale so I have to believe that it is pretty accurate. This is Haist 2269 crossed with the Haist 2517. Love the color.
