Here is a pumpkin growing hack I came up with this year. Zip tie the wimpy heating cable to some nylon rope every foot or so and add a little tape around the cable and wire every so often to prevent slipping. You can grab hold of one end and pretty much straight up rip a 48 ft heating cable from 6 inches deep with no fuss and no breakage. I hope this helps a few people- it sure helped me. If you also happen to have a broad fork it’s like butter.
