So after the last couple of years cutting off my marrows days before the show and losing lbs to dehydration I decided to go with an 'all or fuck all' approach this year. This one, my biggest for the year stopped putting on noticeable growth about 10 days ago and was fully ripe but a change in the weather has forced it to split. Its a tough game, ideally I'd like pollination day to be bang on 7 full weeks before show date but the October shows are difficult as I'd need to be pollinating later than I already am and the day length, temps are not sufficient to get the growth rates. The good news is I still have a few viable marrows left but they're not as big.
