Charlie Bernstrom just texted me & asked how The Slunger is doing? I guess I’ve been neglecting my Slunger updates, probably because I can’t get a picture that really does it justice. It isn’t tall & photogenic like Cole Hocker the Pumpkin. The Slunger is white with a greenish tinge & is about six feet wide & six feet long. Its overall shape reminds me of an aircraft carrier. My friend Kirk Mombert (2 time Half Moon Bay winner from back in the 1990’s) says it is going to outweigh Cole Hocker by a mile. I guess they used to weigh pumpkins in mileage back then. This pic might give you some idea of how big it is. I’m standing next to it taking the pic with my phone reaching as high above it as possible & this is all that fits in the frame. Yes, The Slunger is a bad a$$ pumpkin. I think it will finish out at about 490” & will be about 13% heavy. I’m afraid to even put those numbers into the OTT calculator. That’s the latest on The Slunger.
