FINALLY COOKIN' !! Wound up with the 2070 Bernstrom, 17' with 3 young female flowers on the main and 2 on secondaries and 2084 Bassett with an 8" ribbon in the main starting a foot from the ground, then reconstituting to a normal vine. No females yet. All in all, 3 weeks late with everything, but happy to survive the start up. Also new and improved fencing system with better air circulation and a whole new way to handle the nodes - no cutting of tendrils or tertiaries, just cover those with soil to limit entanglement and rotting the tertiaries buds. Avoids all that disease exposure disease that has been the spoilage of everything the last few years. Simple on the additives this year - Jacks 20-20-20 early on, now moving to 10-30-20 and the usual node mix 50% 10-10-10, the rest mycorrizae, kelp meal, and dry Jack 10-30-20. Will give first dose of CalVantage today. Now, if the irrigation system wouldn't leak. Just WHY do we DO this !??
