I take tremendous pride in my apples trees (3) and keep them pruned and well cared for . problem in past couple years have been terrible. any idea or help would be great. Thanks DAN
Ps...used several different brand of home orchard sprays as in Fert lome Gordans Bonide and all dont seem to do much good..

My contact years ago from an apple orchard owner said they sprayed there trees 7 times a year. My son has several apple trees and he just uses sevin. Make sure your not using roundup or any week killers near the trees.

For insects Astro is really good, you might need a license to get it. This is a pretty good over the counter remedy that is a step up from sevin.

For disease you can now use eagle as they have recently expanded the label to include fruit trees, which gives long lasting systemic protection. The Lowes version of eagle is the following.

In my opinion both the Imunox and triazicide are an improvement over the bonide fruit tree spray which is typically a combination of malathion and captan. That stuff gets washed off with just a slight rain. The triazicide insect killer is not systemic but has a long residual so it helps protect the tree for longer periods and does not wash off easily. If I could only spray once I would do one right after petal drop.

Hi Dan. Yes Eagle is a good one along with Daconil and Triazicide or BugBGone. Use all 3 together. Start when the buds swell then wait till the petals drop, then every 2-3 weeks. Eagle works well on things like rust and brown rot and won't wash off since it's systemic. Much more effective than Captan.

thanks to all whole responded and I see a couple OLD friends replied Mr Checkon and Mr Foss you know I am one of your biggest fans over the years!!!
I generally spray a dormant oil; spray early early spring then something that sucks at pink bud and again petal drop.... and about every 2 weeks after give or take...LOL this year I will try what you mentioned above and see how it goes thanks to all

Be CAREFUL with Sevin! It is the main chemical used for thinning. To strong and you won't have to worry about spraying anything else.
