Is anyone growing Lunga di Napoli squash?
I want to grow something big and these seem to be readily available.
I am hoping for some tips.

I have grown one to 85 pounds or so. I don't have any tips though, as I did nothing but plant a seed! THey are fun for sure. It would be interesting to cross a lunga with one of the " Giant butternuts" that are currently being grown. If you need some seeds, let me know and I will give you my address to send a bubble too.

I have Lunga di Napoli seeds but would enjoy learning more about "giant butternut" squash.

Does the Napoli or "giant butternut" get powdery mildew? Any ideas on reducing that aggravation that rears its head around the last week of July each year?

They do get powdery but because they are of the species Cucurbita moschata they tend to do well, with out much care. I have never grown the giant butternut. I bought some seeds at an auction last year but have yet to plant them.

YOU CAN CONSULT Davide Chiti from Italy, he has grown them for many years.
