Factually, Baldwin has killed more people than the Jan 6th protesters... a cruel irony hidden amongst the leftist's layers of lies. I'm sure it wasnt intentional on Baldwins part. There may have been malice in the production crew apparently some union crew members were fired in a bad blood manner that morning? Maybe someone "forgot to tell" the new crew some critical information. It's too easy to do the wrong thing when under the perception of being treated poorly. Or maybe everyone was well-intentioned. Yes bnot gets the jist of it. If its not in any way pertinent then its just creepy prosecutorial overreach. And if you say "well there might be something there" well thats not how our justice system is setup. A judge is supposed have some inkling of what is on the phone that is incriminating. Probable cause.
But whatever... Im old fashioned I do think the government should give a presumption of innocence and the right to not self incriminate. In practice, that would mean: presuming there is nothing criminal on the phone, unless they do have some credible probable cause. Aka more than "there might be something, we dont know what".
Obviously there is probable cause that he killed the gal, but there is no probable cause (that I know of) that his phone was involved in the crime.

So how do you feel about voter ID issues, F&T? Its funny how both sides should want fair & accurate elections... but I'm not sure that's the case? It seems like one side in particular just wants to win, at any cost.
Fact check: no one died, except one of the protesters. The worst that happened was one cop had a fire extinguisher lobbed over him, and both sides inhaled a lot of pepper spray. One cop died later, as far as I know related to job stress and pepper spray... Not sure if anyone was actually guilty of assaulting the police with pepper spray?
Suppose they had burned congress down... then maybe we would hear the words "generally peaceful" from CNN or the New York Times, right?

Biden's story as a first year President is much like Obama's TruckTech. Obama came in office after a Republican had a really rough run and found the country in turmoil and some of deepest economic problems ever. When he came out and Trump came in, the country was in a great shape, despite 8 years of Republican obstruction. (screwing liberals over is more important then running the country) Obama had to clean up and fix his predecessors screw ups.

Trump on the other hand came in starting with a fully recovered economy and left the country in far worse shape then he found it in and it had been in decades.
4 years of scandals, corruption and national and international embarrassments. Bending over for Putin on camera, playing footsie with Kim Yung un, insulting the dead, veterans, widows, children. No week went by without a remark so classless and downlow that it would make your head spin or a new policy so un-American that all of our adversaries must have been cheering for him. On top of that he was willing to cheat his way into a second term and crap all over the constitution. If Pence would have played ball like Trump wanted to, the damage to this country would have been to great to even speculate about.

I think if you're going to be passionate, ideally it should be be something healthy for yourself, and for everyone around you.

If people want to be zealous about covid or black lives matter thats fine but please recognize when your dancing starts to hurt other people's toes.

I wish the police presence and reaction on January 6 would have been the same as with liberal riots Luke. Then they would have been shot, maced, teargassed and led away cuffed in swat cars or dragged away by unmarked federal agents. That's exactly what would have happened it would have been BLM, Muslims or latino's or those you call liberals.
Different standards for different people right?

And Luke, this is not a contest. Its not about who's riots where more destructive or killed more people. What makes January 6 stand out in the most negative way possible way is that never since 1776 have American citizens stormed their own seat of power, never has their not been a peaceful transfer of power. The last time the capitol was under siege was in 1814 and it was the British that broke in and burned it down, not American citizens.

So needless to say, that to compare these unparalleled riots challenging an Presidential election to run of the mill riots by anarchist and left wing radicals is not only comparing apples to oranges its missing the mark by a mile.

Nevertheless a riots and riot right?, left or right but the reason for them differ. Another reason for the extraordinary importance of the the capitol riots to our country is that it was spurred on by a sitting President unable to stomach his election loss and unwilling to ensure a peaceful transfer of power. For the first time ever in our history an mob of American citizens stormed the capitol because it was made to believe the election was stolen by a bitter and selfish defeated President, who put himself before his country.

So no matter how fast conservatives want to forget, or deflect or Trump wants pivot and turn it into some glorious and patriotic,

this is a stain that will never wash of Trump's legacy or the republican party. Its in the history books. Deal with it!

Actually, I’m referring to people like you. White, privileged, suburban type who think they have a calling. An antifa type who tend to be all white and have destroyed sections of cities in riots they’ve caused which overshadow the true injustices being protested by “actual” minorities.

I happened to drive near Floyd square yesterday...some of the building murals looked quite artistic. Banksy might open an eye in that neighborhood. Reading many conservative news site comments about minneapolis...too many do not know truth of the city.The first riot may have started in Minneapolis, but the story is not over yet.

I agree...Jan 6th was not an insurrection...the guns for insurrection never came out.

What happens now...can anyone of us do much to influence it?

When you have insurance and on everything so you dont care about the actions of others, a 401 k and you comfortably watch your stocks go up because stocks are immune to inflation... Then, your top worry becomes maintaining that carefree status?
America... We used to live in a merit based society? Now we live in a social status based society, one where merit isnt numero uno... Huge difference. And possibly our downfall.
