As Senate Republicans feel increasingly bullish about November, when they are fighting to regain control of Congress, they are floating using a new majority to dig into President Biden and his administration starting in 2023.

The potential probe of Hunter Biden underscores both the headaches awaiting Democrats if the House or Senate flips heading into 2024, but also the shifting power dynamics within the Senate GOP conference, where a stream of retirements of more pragmatic-minded senators is elevating newer, more combative Republicans. It seems slow Joe & the democrats have major problems in their future.

Call me cautiously optimistic. IF we can avoid another COVID-driven election and IF Republicans manage to take both houses and IF enough RINOs are purged, it's going to take ditching McConnell and electing a House Speaker the caliber of Jim Jordan to make any meaningful headway into investigations going all the way back to Hillary.

Republicans have a notorious history of lacking the will to fight and we still have to deal with the Collinses, Murkowskis, Romneys, and Cheneys.

My point about COVID is that blue states will once again employ the same tactics they did in 2020 in their respective elections. I see COVID as their ace in the hole because all they have now is throwing money every which way without offering any real solutions, and even their base understands that printing more money is only adding to their woes. The media continues to advise them to change their messaging instead of offering solutions to real problems concerning most Americans and they hang their hats on what the media tells them.

Still, we can't have another Paul Ryan type House which threatens changes and never delivers.

Trucktech: 35 states have introduced 137 bills limiting what schools can teach with regard to race, American history, politics, sexual orientation and gender identity.

I'm guessing censoring teachers is to make sure those conservatives youngster don't get to hear the truth about slavery, sexual orientation and gender identity. That's exactly how another close minded, bible waving generation of ill-informed conservatives is created who are afraid they'll be replaced by people of color and think every transexual will rape their kid in public toilet while believing slavery wasn't "that bad".

These efforts driven by conservative nut jobs are no different then what's happening in countries the likes of Russia, China and Turkey where conservatives are scared of social liberal ideas and see them as "woke". These regimes targeting educational institutions and other sites of cultural production like museums or the media, as an attempt to drive these ideas out. Should America mimic those countries in their hateful and close minded attitude to those who are different from us? And should we really signal to our kids that to be "true" American you need white, straight and a conservative? It certainly seems to be the goal of much of todays political right.

Its funny that conservatives who where so vocal about "cancel culture" want to cancel everything that doesn't fit their narrow narrative of bible waving and nationalism

Turns out they are worse then liberals. They need safe spaces for their kids in schools where nobody talks about gay people of transexuals, where nobody talks about Darwin or evolution and where slavery and racism is downplayed to something ancient that's been eradicated a long time ago.

No F & T, parents got a good look at what was happening in THEIR schools during the COVID scamdemic and decided that they didn't want their kids growing up being told they were racist simply by being white and that they were forever responsible for slavery. That's not exactly the three Rs.

It's not the right of public schools and teacher's unions to "educate" children on LGBTQ and sometimes Y concerns, that's the job of the family unit. Liberals are creating a generation which will suffer immense social and mental problems and I prefer to not have my taxes pay for it or my grandchildren being one of them. Asking kindergartners to understand the complexities of sexuality is the real form of pedophilia.

Teach my grandchildren something of actual use in a competitive world and quit demonizing them for being white or Christian. Teach them history as it actually occurred and not by removing all traces of it.

I pay the taxes and therefore I get to help make the decisions regarding education in my district. Telling me that parents don't have a right to determine what is taught in public schools is outright socialism. Keep 'em stupid to keep 'em under control is the liberal way.

Those 3 sentences in your rebuttal, not only confirm my previous post, but outline exactly what's wrong with conservatives and their views from the baby boomer generation.

Its ok Truchtech. I didn't expect a guy in his 60's to have progressive idea's on education or ideas on education of any kind for that matter.

Usually with every generation people get a little smarter and some of the narrow-mindedness the intolerance and the prejudice fades away. That means your grandchildren should know better. I hope so at least.
