            | Smallmouth | Upa Creek, MO | Daffodils have been blooming for 10 days. Tree buds are swollen, and I don't recall this early of a spring since 2012.
Oh, and Trout "keeping" season opens today.

            | big moon | Bethlehem CT | It's been a mild one here too. I have been able to dig and transplant and mulch all winter with no frost in the ground. I still don't know if we will have an early spring here though. Usually it takes a while for that to start. I like to watch things like when buds open up or when you first hear the spring peepers etc. Silver maples are one of the first buds to open. I have seen them as early as late February before, also no peepers yet. The past two weeks have been cold here. I agree the last winter we had that was like this was 2012. No ice on the pond that year either. Then go back another 10 years and I remember 2002 was a mild one too. On the opposite end of the spectrum 2011 was the worst winter I have ever experienced so 2012 was a welcome break.
