Could anyone look at this plant and give me a clue as to which way this vine is goin?? The first true leaf is to the right, and I want it to go to the left... But it almost seems like the vine is coming back towards the first ture leaf. I'm a little worried since I planted this at the edge of my patch and I don't want it wandering off!

Looks like it's vining away from the camera and slightly toward the right. Although it's heading in the wrong direction you can gently turn it around using stakes to guide it. Take caution though. You may want this to happen within a few feet but you may snap that vine if you re-position it in a tight arc. Also, only move it a few inches at a time. Only move the vine when the vine has been in the Sun for a few hours (late afternoon, before the Sun goes down). Be patient and you can get it goin' in the right direction. Best wishes and welcome to a fun hobby!

Thanks for you help!
The ground is very loose and there is plenty of wiggle room. I started to gently knudge it using plastic chop sticks....

Gently turn the "vine" towards the direction you want it to go, NOT the whole plant...unless you're experienced in doing that sort of thing. Turning the entire plant can disrupt/ severly damage the establishment of the initial rooting system.

After the vine layed down and grew a little more, it ended up be very easy to redirect it the way I wanted it. Thanks again for your help!
