Subject: soft stem losing water

on one of my plants i have 2 pumpkins both stems are soft and are leaking. is there anything i can do .or is my year done. thank you for your time.

is the entire stem soft, or just a portion of it? if its only a portion, and it doesnt go in too deep, you can scrape the rotted part off with a razor blade.......veeery carefully....after each scrap, dip the razor in bleach to disenfect it. once you get to good meat, apply a dry fungicde powder on it, like sulphur, and if you can, direct a fan so that it will blow on it 24/7.......the more air flow the better. just be sure to keep the tarp covering the fan, water and electricity are a very bad combination! LOL.......good luck

Hmmm, how many monster movies begin with electricity coming in contact with water and a biological element?? I can just see it, attack of the monster pumpkins.
