What an excellent day for the family. Second place with a pumpkin of 135 lbs, heavier than we thought. Winning one was 139.5 lbs. Thanks to everyone here for the help. We can't wait till next year now.

Sheryll........Can we enjoy a picture of you, the kids and your prize pumpkin? Put it on the diary page. Kids love kids. There are a lot of kids in our families. Every one will enjoy your success.

Congrats! Hope you learned lots and had a fun experience. Start planning now and next year you could have a monster Big'n in your backyard.

well done Sheryll The winning pumpkin at Kumeu this year was 193lb but there was only 7 pumpkins in total I didnt take one up I had set the line at 200lb I regret it now as I would have got third or possible second. Just going to keep mine growing and see what I end up with this year.

Hi everyone and thanks for the warm replies. Pics in getting developed so will post asap. Our prize was $150 to spend at garden centre so we're happy. We are going to order one of Don's books and post here for help in preparing as we really did little prep. Walton, thanks for that info. I was keen to know what won in Kumeu. There were about 20 pumpkins in our competition.
