Nova Scotia

due to heavy rain's i now have my 3 largest leafs in the middle of my plant broken (there 2' and there stems have 2 splits each running vertically for about an 11/2" colapsing there tub like structure at there base making them lay down.) i have them propped up with Y sticks but wounder if it would not be better to remove them. for if they can no longer produce energy it would give my side vines more light if?
