The last two days my leaves have wilted badly during the day. Is this a simple lack of water? Or an indication of something else? Its only been in the low 80`s here the last couple of days.

A wilting plant is not a growing plant! If you water it, does it respond and perk back up? (In 10-15 minutes?) If so, it sounds as if the plants just don't have enough root system to support the above ground plant. If the plant doesn't respond to watering, could be bacterial wilt. Seen any cuke beetles?

I don`t see any sign of disease on the leaves, they look healthy and green. Been looking for bugs, haven`t found any yet, sprayed with sevin last weekend.

Forgot to mention, it does perk back up after watering.

Still another possibility. Over fertilization can cause wilting or droopy leaf most notedly in the newer parts of the growth.

Same thing happens to me in KC every year. Focus fetilizer for an application or two on root development. Shade plant during the day as much as possible. Odds are with you.
