Got a few stems that have wrinkled mostly up one side.A few have fallen over. Was wondering if anyone has had this problem and what is the cure.Had this happen last year but it was later in the year.Been feeding 10-30-10 miracle-gro.Switched to more nitrogen today.

Would you post your soil test data here so we know the rest of the story? Spring of 2003 and within last two weeks if you have one that close.

I've seen it before, although not on my plants, and not to the extent that it makes the leaves tip over. i think it was explained to me back then that it had something to do with too much nitrogen (which doesn't syprise me at all). personally, i would back off the nitrogen. i'd love to see your soil tests if you have any, but the nitrogen value on those tests really won't be relevant to the current situation.

Soil test reads as follows. Extractable Nutrient Levels ph=6.9 p=256 k=513 ca=2353 mg=387 zn=26.8 na=91 cec=9.8 H+ H+ H+ H+
Needed plant nutrients pounds per acre N=80lbs p205=25lbs k20=50lbs The only thing i have done since this test was performed was to add manure and leaves in November. This test was done through the county extension agent at Mississippi State University.I have noticed it is not as thorough as some i have seen posted here.I am going to post a few pics in my diary.Any help is appreciated.Gray

one of my test plants was lacking in everything. so for the purpose of learning something i gave it 10 lbs of ammonium sulfate and nothing else. it still has only 4 leaves and the stems look like a slinky. it hasn`t grown an inch in 3 months. so i know too much nitrogen can cause it to happen that way. a pics in my diary under ?? mystery plant??
