From the time you first can see a female developing, say pea size, what's the approximate time to an open bloom? thx all.

as far I know as long as it takes there is not set time or average time.

depends. I've had them open in less time than 2 weeks. Moral is, once the flower part starts looking large, check it every morning if you are going to hand pollinate.

On my horrible experience last summer they first looked big, then looked a tad like maybe, and third the day before showed a little orange in the flower that was to open the next day.
I was shown this on an AG last summer.

True Doc, when I say morning, I'm thinking 5 AM. Might be best to proffer to check them the night before, if the flower tip is light orange and it looks like it is going to explode, then go ahead and band her up and at least 4 males.
