OK, 90% of my leaves are gone, pumpkin has stopped growing, but the vine is still alive I think. If I were to pull my pumpkin and store it in the garage now, would it still be ok untill holloween? Im worried that the hot sun might dry it to rot sooner since all the leaves are about gone, even thou I have it covered with tarp. Should I leave it on, or would it be safe to store it in the garage?

Keep it on the vine as long as possible. Keep it off the ground best you can. Let it have good ventilation and some sunshine. Keep it dry within reason. If you cut it you will immediately begin losing weight and total health will be effected leading to early rot.
Anything else you may do could give you, lets see now, Oh about a whole week more.

I agree with Doc, but about the sunshine. I'd rather fully shade it. Even if the plant hasn't leaves the roots are giving water to the fruit and compensating the skin evaporation, that always exists.
