With seeds getting harder and harder to move between countries I was thinking of trying to stock up on seeds for NZ growers.

Now if I planted lets say a 1945dmg Datetas as a mother plant and pollinated 3 females with the plants I am growing this season (2109 Zywiec, 1998 Jutras, 1338 Martin) would all the resulting pumpkins be true crosses?

1945 Datetes x 2109 Zywiec
1945 Datetes x 1998 Jutras
1945 Datetes x 1338 Martin
And depending on how the plant was looking maybe also self pollination.

Yes they wold all be true crosses as long as you control the pollinations.

Also, remember you do not necessarily need a big pumpkin to produce big results, you just need genetics to produce big;-)

Thanks for that. I had your 'Snowball' in mind when I was asking the question.
Also crossing 1338 Martin x 1998 Jutrus, 2109 Zywiec x 1998 Jutrus and 1998 x 2109 reverse cross so all going to plan should have good stocks for any growers over here that want seeds.
