Has anyone planted the 1685 from 2015? It’s a 1659 Miller x 1969 Haist- the cross is between Jack’s #1 & #2 plants that year. I’m giving very serious thought to planting one this year.

Check out the entire jeremy robinson diary 2017 its not an answer to your question but you might find it interesting. My 1415 Haist plants were aggressive. I think both sides of that LaRue cross could bring some good genes. Run it back to back with an 800 McMullen. Lol we need a seed that we can compare stuff to... A universal standard seed that is affordable.

Thank you! My idea for the 1685 was to cross it with a 1625 Gantner. I think growing it beside the 1625 would be a good comparison. Another option on the table is a backcross of the 1692 McMullen to the 1625. So I’m trying to decide between the 1685 and the 1692. I really like both possibilities, but I especially like the idea of using the 1685 since I feel like it could actually be an outstanding seed that everyone has overlooked. I think the 1692 has a lot of untapped potential too, but at least it has been planted a few times.
