I've got a 1381 Checkon up (1288 Wallace x 1161 Rodonis) and am waiting on my 1401 Urena (991 Urena x 901 Hunt). Been a bad start this year, since I lost about 3 great seeds to rot and mutations.

Cheers and God bless,
Ben

Good luck this year Webber! That's a nice lineup you've got going there. Should be planting my 1381 Checkon into the patch the next few days.. Nice big cots and quite vigorous already!

Hi guys, good luck this season, hope we all get new PB's.
Sorry for the slow post, but been away for a week, and been busy since getting home.
So far I have 8 plants in the ground they are
My 275.4 ( 1338 X 710 )
1753 Bryson
1630 Colbert
1293 Wild
907 Wagler
1143 Wolf
1544 Reiver
1445 Michaud
I did have a 854 Frei in the patch till yesterday when 100 km/hr winds snapped it off at the ground.
More will go into the patch soon, check my diary in the coming days.
Phillip

Well I've had a horrible start this year. My 1381 Checkon was snapped 3/4 of the way through the stem from horrible winds and then got burnt by this hot weather we've experienced lately. I'm trying to get at least one in the patch but nothing wants to germinate.

Your 1775 went in the mail today, I moved so everything was packed and it took me a few days to get unpacked.

Shane Newitt ( Speedy) Hi everyone, I hope I'm on the right site as I was wishing to catch up with other growers from Australia.. 2014 was a tough year for growing down here in Tassie with a really late summer and continuous gale force winds. However we managed 2 pumpkins that is 1 in the Junior section which went 260kgs and 1 in the Adult section for the Bream creek show. This pumpkin was weighed at 287.8ks at 56 days old.. Hope to chat to you chaps if I find I'm on the right siet?.

Hi bluesilver, thankyou for informing me that I am in the right post section.. This is all a bit new for me..Lol. How did you fare this season and did you pass your Personal Best?.. Whereabouts in Tassie do you reside or grow from?

I am very new to this growing side of giant pumpkins, kind of found out i have been doing everything pretty much wrong.
I am a bit over 200kg behind you, best is only 75kg, pretty poor result, but everything i have been doing has been working against me and was only using average seeds.

Setting up this year for hopefully a better result, had some very good and helpful information from people on this site.
I am on the North West, Devonport area.

Hi Blue silver and a good effort anyhow.. I believe it is just a matter of passing your own personal best and improving each year.. There are a fantastic lot of people on this site and they share and help with great advice.. Good luck with your preparation for next season and keep in touch mate..

Hey guys, i had a terrible year last year - copped a really hot spell that wiped out one of my plant, and had a stray animal damage the other one iplanted. Still have a few seeds left that are for this years attempt. gave a few away.. See what happens
