Hello everyone which giant squash lineage of seed you are growing for this upcoming year (2024) and when everyone starts there's. Do I start them early in April and then set them out In May in my area of the states.

I'm growing my own this year, 810 Cantrell x 1109. Starting around April 20, that'll give enough time to get past 100 dap.

Nothing wrong with starting later. I had a mishap this year and started new seeds on May 8 and May 18. The one started May 18 weighed 1310 pounds and got to 80 dap, not too bad, especially considering I was the one ̶a̶b̶u̶s̶i̶n̶g̶ growing it. Things also went a lot smoother not having to deal with the cold. Start whenever is best for you and your weather, they don't like the freezing cold. Anytime before May 15 and you should be fine.

Didn't think the strikethrough of "abusing" would work. Oh well

Hoping to get some of our 834* from 2003 to germinate. Prepping them with Ethanol and GA-3 now.

Jutrus, Kline and Ansems squash seeds are a few good proven lines over the past years. And I recall Gadberry's growing some nice dark green squash as well. Here in Nova Scotia, Canada we usually do not get our transplants set out until late May/early June, but you should much earlier.
