I was looking to get some info on control of this bug. I haven't seen any yet but I'm sure its on the way! I see one called Imidacloprid and neem oil and was wondering if these would work. Imidacloprid is a systemic. My vines are 17 feet long and plants have no pollinated fruit on them as of yet. Is it to late for the Imidacloprid? And if not what would the mix ratio and best way to apply. And with neem oil what would the mix ratio and the best way to apply. In the past I used Carbaryl 4l as a insecticide and was wondering if there is something better as maybe the ones I had mention. Thanks to all and I appreciate your feed back.

Neem oil has worked well for me. Buy concentrate, follow the instructions. A hand held sprayer is all you need and it forces you to put eyes on each leaf. I found backpack sprayers will make you rush a bit due to their better coverage and things get overlooked.

Imidacloprid will readily kill bees... It works well I think but all the flowers should be removed prior to opening if you care about your local pollinators. I have bees so I refuse to use it.

What I have found is the adult squash bugs are not killed by Merit, they kind of get drunk and show themselves on top of the leaves. The young bus will be killed if the merit is in the sap. You will need to spray with a contact pesticide to finish them off. As for pesticide any pyrethroid will work.
