I have one that is busted open so bad I can see the seeds. Just wondering if anyone has had one like this and left it on, and what happened.

Otherwise, might cull the plant.

Its a bit dark but you can even see the baby seeds if you look close.

Let me know what you think?

Fortunately its just this one plant doing this. Maybe the roots are a bit dry, or maybe it was that night that was near freezing, or maybe it nutrients. Wish I knew!

Oops,I meant to ask: If you have grown a tomato with a bad split, how far did it make it along...?

Could this one ripen without rotting?

I've popped a few pumpkins like that in the past, but not a tomato like that..interesting. Mine were from pushing Potassium. I can't tell for sure but kinda looks like a clean break. Maybe some small critter or bugs also involved? I'd probably see what it does due to curiosity. If you have a back up I'd go with that. The fruit can sometimes amazingly come back around. Nature is amazing.

Overall I think once the core of the fruit is open or disturbed it 80% it doesn't make it. I'll check back and see what you decide.

I'm also curious to leave it and see what it does, and the potassium is likely high in that spot. Other minerals like boron, magnesium, manganese are likely low.

I had a couple last year that were malformed and grew with some seed pockets exposed. It seems to just scar up and grow over, but it wasn't really a split.

Time flying by, here's an update:

...plus the next two entries. It turned out about as good as it could have.
