Hello! I had the same thing last year, the main whip cracked, I fixed it on sticks and wrapped it with a bandage, made a splint like for a broken leg. And she eventually grew together and a fruit grew on this whip. :))

I never had those kind of issues unless I was using cal nitrate. Perhaps more copper/boron would offset this. Just a guess, don't know this for sure.

The way to sort this is to have a couple of sticks holding the vine up and move them forward at least every morning. The reason they crack easily is because the vine hasn’t developed the lignin on the xylem cells fully. I will put a photo on my diary tonight for you. I hope this helps Ian
