You can get a bunch of the skinny bamboo skewers for marshmallows/cooking on the grill and break them into manageable pieces and make 'heightening Xs' as you go; The problem is to keep them along with the growth, but with a Diary, you'd be 'right after it' and make more/reposition, lol. Also, seeing later the # of them, you could reposition your walking boards if they don't damage the vines when you step onto them/bounce and let them grow partially or fully over them before eventually burying vines and re-moving the boards;---eric g

You have self-burying vines?! Sounds like a good problem to have... oh I forgot this is 2025 and buried vines is out of fashion. I'd throw down a thin layer of straw if the mud was getting too bad. Not sure what else to suggest...

Thanks! I have the bamboo skewer Xs at every tip and move them daily if not twice a day as the vines grow. This is just a lot to keep up with, and you sure can't miss a day. Just didn't know if dragging tips was an indicator of something deficient/excess. In reality this may be just due to all the rain.

I have to say you've had a tough go so far with all rain drenching the soil drowning poor roots basically, they need to breath too. Hopefully a good run of dry weather air things out for you. I would stay away from straw, etc invitation to mice perhaps? Not sure someone else may know better? Good luck!
