I dont see any difference in container size. Thats why I am confused.

Sorry for the confusion. The biggest plant was started in this large McD's cup, and the two smaller ones were started in 2 different sizes of smaller cups. I transplanted them after their roots started circling. The very smallest plant (in the pot with the pumpkin) was started in an egg carton. Yes, my conclusion is that the bigger cup and undisturbed roots seem to benefit the plant. I honestly assumed this was one of those things everyone else already knew and I was late to the game haha.

Yeah, try avoid letting plants get rootbound since they out grow their containers fast. Timing and prep is everything (talking pkns) in Spring.
