You could put up a simple frame with pvc or electrical conduit and rebar.
Pound the rebar into the ground and put the pipe over it. Then clamp your tarp to the pipes.

I like Ken's idea. There is a risk of a heavier structure falling in the wind. PVC and plastic wont hurt the kins if it falls on them, and if you install it carefully you will not hurt the leaves or plant either.
