Is it possible or will a vine grow just as fast as genetics will allow?

Other than genetics there are soil interactions with soil biology and soil chemistry. The myco / azos / amino acids in the soil could help push growth beyond what you would get from the plants own genetics?

Plants have definate growth phases. Now being two months or so into the push plant growth with high nitrogen formulas we would be reducing nitrogen and introducig a fert that promotes flowering. The Hollands have a fantastic fert program on their website that is ideal for your region.

Some people have pushed their plants growth, and already have 10-20 foot mains, so, i would say the time has passed to push growth.

Lol grower...but what if my plant is at 5’ long and coming on strong right now?... isn’t that when I’m supposed to push it?....( one of my biggest early mistakes was trying to keep up with the plants on BP...)

So I've been in ground since May 4th, 8ftish main, secondaries starting to run. Plan was to push nitrogen til June 15th (fish 5-1-1, raw grow 7-4-5) hoping for a July 4th pollination I'm I on track or need to start thinking bloom boosting

That guy in Alaska lol...!!! My squash plant has grown about three feet in three weeks. Its all about balance / sufficiency I dont think push is the right word... maybe keep up with them would be correct.

Plant Envy can cause some serious damage with "More on" thinking. Mine are catching up...the soil is balanced. It will not be a mid June pollination, later in June with better growing conditions is my plan to achieve another personal best.

I agree, Run your own race. Everyone will have different conditions and be at different places. I don't worry about it. I just saw a heavy hitters diary and his plants are still small. Yet I can bet he will have some of the biggest pumpkins come October. I always think of the saying, "it's not how you start, it's how you finish."

The weather plays a big, big part in how fast your plant can grow. If you are really pushing your plant with high salts, that may be fine when the conditions are cool, but when the hot weather comes you will have a hard time keeping those leaves from wilting and getting toasted.
