The Florida state record is, I believe 840(correct me if I'm wrong)set back in 2008. That may not sound big by VanHook standards, but that's a hefty piece of real estate down here! If someone gets lucky in the near millenium and edges the 840 out, how does s(he) go about getting that weight certified as there are no weigh-offs in Florida???????

Verified, Certified Scales!!! Digital read out on scales is important!!! Lot's of pic's, including pkn on scale w/digital read out in same pic!!! County extension agent & Notary present at weighing, and then statement from that county extension agent, verifying awl of the above, w/several witnesses!! Then have it notarized, and sent to the GPC!!! Way simple, eh? LOL
Phil, seriously...if not a GPC sanctioned weighoff, it it tough, but not impossible!!! Good Luck, and Grow em BIG!!! Peace, Wayne

We are in South Carolina. We asked the Farmers Market people to let us weigh ours there. A scale company from Georgia donated their scale. I had to call a couple diff ones to finally get one to say yes. We had newspaper people there and local news. When you dont have a local weigh off you have to do all the work yourself getting everything together. Hard work, alot of emails. But when a state record is involved you will find someone that will be interested. We too were after the state record since so few grow here, and since we were pretty sure we broke it, it was pretty easy to get the local press involved. Biggest prob was the scale thing. Best of Luck and if you have any other questions you are more then welcome to eamil us...Frank and Tina SC State Record Holders :)
