This will be my second year planting pumkins. I planted 400 plants last year and lost all. I have planted more this year. I have treated the ground. What can I spray that will not harm the plants??

Are these AG pumpkins or field pumpkins? What do the worms look like? Are they on the leaves or boring into the vines? A little more info will be helpful in answering your question.

I've been planting at least that for the last 4 years. I only spray when I absolutely have to. I use Pasada. It's a system pesticide.

They are field pumpkins. They are green worms and are boring into the vines.. I did treat the ground before hand. I have pulled up a few plants to check, and so far so good.. But the worm really took over last year when the plant was fixing to produce pumpkins..

mis, take a worm to yer local ag agent!!! Ask them to identify & recommend solutions!!! SVB's bore into vines shortly after hatching from egg stage...have never seen a SVB "worm" outside of the vine. Grow em BIG!!! Peace, Wayne
