Will Rootshield "consider" Mycorrhizal fungus a pathogen, hence creating a hostile environment for the Myco? thanks Kathy

Tricoderma does "graze" on mycorrhyza. But the effect isn't all bad. The resulting "death" produces enzymes/amino acids(?) that are also anti-fungal. The world of soil microbiology is complex. The life inside our soil changes so fast & so regularly that it is sometimes hard to pin-point which processes are causing which effects. Soil temperature, % moisture, etc really upset the balance so much that some researchers just run away screaming. LOL

The Mycorrhizae Soil Inoculant that Joel Holland sells contains both, so I would think they'd be ok together.

I've always wondered why Joel packages them together but some growers swear by his preparation.

The key to not going nuts over microbiology is to accept the fact we're dealing with a siutation that is too dynamic to always predict with accuracy what is happening. Some people pay crazy money to have a biological soil test performed only to have the sample mishandled enough to alter the results,,,often greatly.
