How do you tell if you're pumpkin seeds are dry enough for storage/sending?

I usually put a fan on them for 3 weeks. That has been enough for me. I am not sure if there is a way to tell from the outside for sure.
Maybe cracking one open would shed additional light, but I am not sure.

Have read over and over, that during the drying process, when the seeds shed the thin paper covering...they are dry!!! Peace, Wayne

Our white seeds were done in a little over a week. Tan seeds might take 3 weeks but it all depends on the humidity. When the "skins" fly your ready to package & ship.
