Mona Lisa

Newark Delaware

Hi, I saw an earlier post and didn't know if it was dead or not.
My name is Mona Lisa. No really. My father's name is Sam Houston and my grandfather's name was Andrew Jackson. I'm just lucky they didn't name me Betsy Ross!
I asked my parents and my mom said when I was a baby I was so beautiful her and my grandmother . . . you get it. I asked my father, he said he fell off of his bar stool first and lost the bet. Hmmm... My mother is that mushy and my father is that much of a rouge, so either one is possible. ha-ha.
So, there's my story and I have high hopes being here. Today is my first day.

Brooks B

Ohio

My father named me after my great Uncle, my great uncle also had a son with the same name as mine, so there was 3 Brooks Brady Bosworth's in my family tree. I named my Daughter Brooke and would have named my son Brandon ,'Brooks' but my wife would have none of it,lol.

Oh I did get to name my son Brandons middle name which is Brady, that was as close as my wife would alow me get to naming him, lol.

Funny how families are! My father's name is Sam, my little brother's name was Sam, and I named my son Sam, who named his duck Sam.
Family Traditions!
Hi Brooks, glad to hear you have a good woman to keep you in line. My son Sam is in Ohio. He just finished his EMT trainig and is starting paramedic classes next week. I vacationed in Mentor, Ohio, outside of Cleveland, from Dallas Texas, for about 8 months until law school started and I moved to Delaware. He stayed behind, met a yankee girl and thus a truce was called to the civil war! My family still can't believe that I moved to "yankeeland" and were horrified (literally) that I didn't eat collard greens and black eyed peas on New Years Day. It's a "southern thing". I was too busy working, really mom! They accused me of becoming a dreaded Yankee! ha-ha

My name was changed to PA Punkin' Pharmer by the witness protection program after the incident. I felt like I needed to grow pumpkins so it didn't seem suspicious.

Hi PA Punkin' Pharmer!
Well, I don't know how successful you'll be at not drawing attention to yourself if you are hauling a 1000lb. pumpkin through town!
Good luck with that though. . .

CliffWarren

Pocatello (cliffwarren@yahoo.com)

Well, this could be interpreted in many ways...

My ancestor Joshua Warren was married to Jane Orcutt in East Bridgewater, Mass., in 1725. We can only assume he was born sometime around 1700. The line ends there. We have speculated that we are related to Richard Warren who came on the Mayflower, but we can find no documentation proving that.

What I need to do is find another male who is a direct descendant on the male line from Richard Warren, and then do the DNA testing on each of us.

Geneology is fun, I have done some. You might even be able to find some one to help you do the work for you for 15-20 a hour at a local county seat. I did it in the 90's. I bet now with the home computer you can get all the info you need once you find the right place to look. Also alot of names have associations, clans that can help.

It might not be too hard Cliff. My husband had never met his father and we found his father's family when he was 36 years old.

Ever since I was a kid I have always grown Pumpkins, My dad and I would grow 'Big Max' or 'Big Moon' pumpkins every year. A 100 pound big max was a top sized specimen. (Really not so big compared to the 'Dill's Atlantic Giant' of today) The handle big max had already been taken here at bp.com So I chose big moon instead.
