During the GPC seed auction awhile back, I purchased a 1097.5 Beachy seed. I received the bubble pack at Christmas and to my surprise Joe Scherber put an extra 1097.5 seed in the pack from his own seed bin. This was great Christmas gift to me from a man I have never met. I guess Pap Wallace is right "there are no bad pumpkin growers" So to Joe Scherber my hats off to you, and may you have a great New Year and "Grow Em Big" Thank you Ron Root

No Place Special

I have had the pleasure to meet him a couple of times. The first time i met him he gave my kids a couple bucks out of his own pocket so they could play pool at the get together. Him and his wife are great! I miss seeing him at Anamosa, I guess they have their own weighoff in CO now.

bambam....I'm lucky enough to have Joe in my back yard.....first time I ever met him waz at hiz house last June and he put a beer in my hand 5 minutez after I waz there. I've asked him many questionz and he'z very gracious ! Joe treats me like Paps just said..... I may be new to this hobby but Joe knowz that I'm trying to beat hiz Colorado State record and izn't afraid to help me.......now that sayz it all !! He'z giving me a great seed, out of hiz collection , to plant thiz year and that sayz what type a guy he iz ! He never treated me like a rookie and that meant a lot to me ! Now I need to go feed Joe....I keep him in a wooden crate in the corner of my back yard. Going to get cold tonight so I'll run an extension cord for an electric blanket to keep him warm.......
