I got three of these seeds wondering if it is a good idea to cross them????

It is not a bad idea to self a pumpkin. It will only matter if you (or someone else) want to grow the seeds that result from the cross. The cross that you make will have no impact whatsoever on the pumpkin that you grow next summer.

It all depends on conditions given to the plant. Sun, Soil, Temperature, Insects, Disease and Luck. Just because its a 1689lb seed doesn't mean I cant get 100lb pumpkin from it.
