hello.how often do the growers fertilize and water?is there a schedule everyone uses?i am using fish and seaweed with the bio -endo plus.i am using the soakers and misters, but i am wondering if i dont water enough.is there a rule of thumb as how many gallons a day does a pumpkin need?if you look at the agro-k program it has you fertilizing everyday, doesnt that seem to be too much.thanks again.

The answer for the every day feeding is -- think of your GP as your self --how do you feed when you miss breakfast--i dont feel REAL good--GP'S eat so voraciously that when they lack food they suffer and before to long the pumpkin and plant shut down-- this is the reason for the soil soups and other amments though out the season and the AGRO-K Program does just that-->feeds daily in very small amounts -- bottom line >NEVER LET YOUR PUMPKIN GO HUNGRY -craig

Hello Sperog, I offer my two cents... The answer to your question is tied to your specific soil type. What are the drainage characteristics, nutrient holding capacity (CEC), existing nutrient levels?
I don't disagree with Craig, but would also add.. In this sport, restraint and action must be tempered with information from soil tests and hands on time with the soil. More is not necessarily better! Balance is the key.
I agree with Peace,Wayne, to consult with a Heavy Hitter in your area, to get a feel for your soil together with your soil test results. Consult with a professional (soil Agronomist) prior to adding anything.
Best of Luck, George

we are very scientific here in ri. we grab a handfull of soil, squeeze it together in the palm of our hand, open the palm of our hand ,see if the ball of soil holds together.
if it does its moist enough. if it wants to fall apart you need water
mother nature also can help the cause with a good shower every week to ten days as well
last year was so dry in ri that we watered every second or third day.
