i have been meaning to do this for a while now--- you all know how Joel Holland has been more than instrumental in furthering the spobby of giant pumpkin-growing and has himself recently gained a good share of the spotlight with a couple of back-to-back 1229s in '05 and '06 and a 1384 in '07... well, i almost went blind doing it, lol, but i scrolled down through 277 title lines on the AGGC and it was at about that # that a Holland seed (995 Holland '04) numerically-speaking, anyway, first produced an 1166 Holland '05 which produced an 1112 Holland '06. WOW! seems to me that if the ball park is open here, there aught to be a game going on, so to speak, and, since i am sure that anyone who has bought a Holland video or maybe several of them such as i have has THESE Hollands and many more like them kept away somewhere, i also think that they deserve to very soon make their marks on the 'playing field' along with all the 'seeds of today' we are striving to obtain.... i had wanted to grow the 1026 Holland and cross it with the 940 Mombert '98 to recreate the 582 Hester, but my seed-starting mix was just not the right kind for AG-sprouting in '08. if you are itching to plant an unproven seed in '08, maybe make it a Holland. believe me, Joel doesn't know i am plugging for his seeds and i myself should practice what i preach, lol----
good luck with what you do plant in '08---eric g
