Can pollen be Frozen and remain viable. Also has anyone out there grown an AG hydroponically .On face value this sounds like a very promising method. Something i would like to try next season. Two seeds from the same pumpkin one grown hydroponically and one conventionally, see who wins the race

Here is a discussion on the topic. There are several links posted in this thread which direct you to other discussions on growing Giant pumpkins hydroponically. http://www.bigpumpkins.com/msgboard/ViewThread.asp?b=9&p=233309 I have made one attempt at growing a hydroponic AG but did not have the chance to see it through. One day I will accomplish the task.
As far as storing pollen goes I have heard it has been done with some limited success. A desiccant is added to the pollen prior to frozen storage which helps prevent caking and moisture content within the sample.
