It's not often Europeans thank North Americans, but I would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have helped us European growers out over the years.

We are slowly getting the hang of things, primarily thanks to the advice, seeds and support of all of you over there.

We have started our own club now (www.freewebs.com/egvga) but obviously have no intention of letting the big pond between us separate us.

Memberships are steadily coming in (also from Canada and the US - thanks a lot!) and many growers that are joining have been anonymous until now, never having joined a club or visited this site.

We would like to offer a seed package to each and every member before planting time in April.

Who can help us out by sending 20 or more seeds from your pumpkins? We are too young an organisation to be able to provide seeds for every grower (many have no seeds worth mentioning). By the end of the year we hope to have seeds aplenty.

Growers who can send us seeds (or we send you a bubble) to hand out to European growers of almost every country, please contact our seed coordinator:
Kaarina Rinne (Hottis on BP)
medicinewoman@suomi24.fi

Seeds can be sent in bulk or individually packed.

Thank you very much for your support once again and feel free to join the club.

Great job Brad. Email coming your way for shipment info. I am going to send you a boat load of seeds. I have been wanting to thin my collection out and there is no better way then to help a new group get started. good luck.

As a European, I want also to thank the North Americans and all the others who helped me
And all those who have made large seeds of great crosses, which we have done sometimes win.
In France, I did not know the culture of giant pumpkin, until the day I enrolled in a contest in France ..
Is what motivated my most is Charlie Houghton on BP in 2002, with this huge pumpkin Lbs of 1337.6, and I really want to continue.
And that is partly or wholly really started ..
Now to the EGVGA was created is that of happiness for all of us ..
With hope that we shall all hands .. THANK you!

Steve,
I agree, this is the perfect opportunity to get those seeds that are sitting in my seed vault out into the hands of growers that will plant them.

Email sent to Kaarina.

I consider the Pumpkin growing community to be a world wide brotherhood. That said, the geographical differences are very real right here in the US so any local effort to foster better results is good. Clubs foster not just a sense of camaraderie but can also help growers overcome local environmental challenges.

I applaud your efforts to raise the bar through cooperation. There are some fine growers in Europe. If you all work together & share & borrow lessons learned here (where applicable) we can all benefit.
