instead of using soil cables does everybody think that portable heaters do the same job?thanks ahead for your replies.

Two different types of heat..A thermostatically controlled soil cable buried 18 inches heats the soil. A Space heater heats the air. Dig down two inches with a space heater and you will see the big difference.
