Does any of you store your seeds in the freezer. And how long?

I had stored some of my 612 seed in the freezer.Last year i planned on growing it, i had some seed that wasnt frozen. I filed, soaked and used heat. No luck, so later i remembered that i had some in the freezer. Did the same thing, and bam it came up.
Now i dont know if this is a fluke or not but i think freezing it may have helped. The seed was 3 years old, so i dont now if the moisture from the thawing helped or not. But i will try again, both ways to see which one comes up. Hope this helps

I keep the "good stuff" in a dedicated freezer. They always germinate fine. Unlike some other seeds, AG seeds don't require cold stratification to germinate. They might not benefit from the cold at all. But a decent freezer provides a disease free environment with stable humidity & that is important for storage. Dry heat is a seed killer.

I store mine in a cool dry place in the basement with a few desiccant pouches with them. Ive never froze mine before.

I put my in air tight child proof cap pill bottles. I just buy some from the local pharmacy. Then store them in a box in the basement.
Was woundering though when storing seeds in a dry cool and dark place what is the optimum "cool" temp the room should be??
