I'd like to throw something out there to the Pumpkin Club community worldwide. I'd like to get ideas, discussion and thoughts on holding a meeting of club reps sometime here on the BP chat to exchange ideas on all things it takes to operate and make a pumpkin club successful. From fundraising to weighoff operations to spuring member participation (one that is near and dear to me). I proposed something like this a few years back at Niagara and it seemed to be well received. When I say reps, it can be 1 member, 10 members, Presidents, whatever. Just a roundtable discussion on the things above or anything else that's invovled with being a pumpkin club. The more clubs represented, the more ideas get tossed around. The goal to me would be if any club got a single new idea or way to improve their operations. Anyway, it's wide open and if there isn't a decent response to this post, I will assume there isn't enough interest and will not pursue it further. Thanks for your time.

bill i like the idea and also would suggest contacting dave stelts and making it a gpc involved event. many of the clubs are already gpc sites and encluding the gpc in the conversation will also help the growth of the gpc as well as prospective new sites world wide. i would reccommend this forum highly. great idea, count the sbgpg in lots of very successful club officials that could share ideas and information with others. pap

How about a dedicated chat room on a given night, Saturday perhaps, with participation limited to designated reps of each club? After a couple of hours maybe the ten or twenty reps could have kicked around enough ideas to keep all clubs busy for awhile. Maybe Bill can work it out with Ken to set up such an event. Lee

I think it is a good idea also and would think maybe specific topics for discussion could be outlined ahead of time and maybe have this round table chat be a monthly or quarterly event. I would count the PNWGPG in

Bill and all clubs, the GPC has been wanting to establish a club/group registry so we can have better communication between the growers and the GPC. This will also enable new growers a place to find the support close to them to help them grow bigger pumpkins. In Niagara we are offering every participating club/group a free table to promote their club/groups activities and benefits, please contact Lisa Irwin for more info.
In Niagara the GPC will have it's own break out session to cover topics such as this on Sunday morning. This will be a great opportunity to discuss this very subject, together as a whole we become much stronger!!!
Excellent post BILL!!!

Count us in Bill. I'll try to get a couple of our executives to attend as well. I'll need an email reminding me of the day & time, because I don't get a chance to visit BP.com as oftan as I'd like to. We look forward to sharing ideas with you all. Take care.

That should be "time difference", though I admit being a multinational organisation here makes it a bit different than most more "local" clubs.

PEN, how do the 3 of us from KY., man a table, and still get to the informative sessions...??? Would love to set up a table for the KY. folks, but also want to gather all info possible!!! Sounds like a great idea!!! But the logistics leave our table "un-manned, most of the time"!! Any ideas, are appreciated!! Peace, Wayne
