So we heard about what the groundhog in Pa said, What do you think the weather will be in your area this spring and summer?

I predict we will have a wet and snowy March and April, But will be hot and dry this summer. and our annual monsoons will be back this yr.

When I learned the real reason groundhogs appear around the first week of February, I lost all faith in their weather-predicting ability. The Farmer's Almanac would be a more reliable source.

New Castle, Pa.

After losing my 904 Stelts to a groundhog last year I have learned not to trust them. This year the fence goes up before the plants go in. Also I don't know about conditions in Punxsutawney but as cloudy as it was in W.Pa.yesterday morning it would have been impossible for a groundhog to have seen his shadow.

Punxsutawney Phil is one of them!! They are not to be trusted!!!!

Phil saw his shadow for one reason, media lights. He just got confused. It was very cloudy in Pa too. I don't trust a critter that will eat a pumpkin plant or pumpkin in no time flat, I never did like the big ugly rat.

I was at Punxy yesterday and diamondlady is correct. Stage lights and media caused the shadow. The "inner circle" said only one man can understand the "groundhogeeze" language, and after they proclaimed 6 more weeks and everyone booed, they said "Don't shoot the messenger!" Never thought I'd ever care to see this event and I still don't, but the kids had a blast! Not all groundhogs are bad---the young ones make quite tasty stew!
