Last year I got the following seeds at the Niagra Seminar from the GVGO as part of their "2006 Seed Endorsement Program", 941.5 MacKenzie, 1058.5 Timm, and the 901.5 Leonard. A $400 prize was offered to the grower of the largest pumpkin out of these three seeds. I never heard how it ended up. Can anyone let me know the top weights and color of those three seeds?

The prize was in fact 600, with 200 coming from the convention, Cornerstone weigh off and the GVGO.
Phil Hunt at the GVGO has the results and they will be officially annouced at the GVGO spring seminar in Thornton Ontario on Sunday, April 6th.
I grew all three of the seeds but none of them managed to gain the first prize. The 941 macKenzie was amazingly dark orange. Being a Howard Dill runner up last year the 901 Leonard was also dark orange. The 1058 Timm which produced the eventual winner was more rounded and lightly colored.
I know of a total of 9 entrants with the largest being.
Brandon Timm 1127.1 Timm 2007, 1058.5 Timm 2006 X 1019.0 Timm 2006

Thank you for the reply Russ. If things work out I hope to see you at Niagra next month. Tim

Russ is absolutely right. The GVGO's own Brandon Timm was the winner & will be presented with his check at the GVGO's Seminar in April. Only a few growers tried any of these seeds last year. Because it wasn't very popular with the growers, this contest won't be continued for the 2008 season.
