I think we had a pretty decent response to the proposal to have a series of meetings, be it annual or quarterly of representitives of all pumpkin clubs and organizations to exchange ideas and thoughts to the benefit of each club and the pumpkin community as a whole. In the post we had responses from the following groups who were interested: GPC CWPG SNGPG VGVG SOGPG NCGVG PNWGPG NEGPG RMGVG EGVGA I would like to ask everyone interested to look down the list and see if we can get a thumbs up for attendance from the clubs not listed above. The more we can get to attend, the better the meetings and ideas will be.
I think having the GPC in attendance and involved is a good thing, however I think the focus should be on the clubs. Many of us work with GPC and we both will benefit.

We now need to start talking about how often we would meet and find a day and time that works for the majority. I would hate this to be like many online meetings where only a few attend.
Also some sort of a list for agenda ideas would be good. In other words, lets start getting some ideas down to start the gelling process if it is truely our intent to make this a reality.
This idea and everything about it belongs to all the clubs, assoc. and orgs., and everyone needs to make it their own to maximize brainstorming i.e. benefit to all of us.
Please take the time to post your thoughts so we can continue to move forward with this proposed effort.

Almost any evening at this time of the year works for me Bill, Brig had responded in your earlier post, perhaps a couple other directors from the CWPG as well.
Discussion topics,,hmmmm
Most successful methods for getting some "volunteer" committees to help with fundraisers, newsletters, events? It seems we all have problems there, but maybe someone has some secrets to share.
Club support of multiple weigh offs and the "balancing act" that entails. (politics, etc)
Sponsorships, big, small, getting them signed up, keeping them happy, pumping them for more ;-)
I'm thinking there are many of these type problems we all deal with, any help from clubs that feel they have successfully addressed them would be a place to start in a discussion forum.

I must have missed this the first time around, but am willing to be there, and will encourage other "officials" from the KGPG, to be there also!!! As new as we are, we need all the help we can get!!! Very interested in "how to" lessons for sponsorship!!! Possible topic? We can all help each other, I think!! Peace, Wayne

just a suggestion but with most of the sites being gpc and many more hopefully to follow in 2008 i think this would be a good opportunity for communications between the gpc site reps and the gpc executive committee this also presents a great opportunity for sites to also help one another with any questions or concerns they may have someone needs to moderate the meetings and also send an ajenda out a few days prior so site/club reps attending can think ahead on the subects to be discussed the gpc has been holding committee meetings in their own chat room for over three years. a lot gets done and everyone gets his two cents in. one of the reasons the gpc has prospered so much over the last three years is these meetings. we often also discussed holding meetings from time to time with the gpc site reps. although im no longer a gpc committe person i will help by representing the sngpg and help when i can pap
