We just got home from the california growers meeting in elk grove. Wow! it was a great day, the sun was shining, and so were the growers! thanks to all the growers that contributed seeds for our seed table, auction and seed raffle. the meeting was a success! close to 150 growers attended this year. many new faces and some veteran growers showed that we haven't seen for many a year (like chris anderson!). thanks again to all the groups that traded seeds with us and all the growers that contributed seeds. The Parks and Rec dept of Elk Grove did a great job of organizing the event. we are all full of enthusiasm now. ready for Spring......

BTW, I Knew I should have recognized that face...it WAS Chris Anderson!! Many a time have I read Don Langevin's account of his record pumpkin grown here in Southern California. Chris, you are one of my pumpkin heroes for proving that one can grow a giant this far south!! I wish my brain was functioning fully yestarday...I would have introduced myself and thanked you for showing us the way! Kudos!

Pete gave a great presentation and answered a lot of questions. I know some hard work must have been done by quite a few people to have such a well run meeting. The seed table was full of quality seeds, the food was delicious, and the prizes came fast and often. Thanks to all who helped put it together. Good times.

Autumn..... don't feel bad about not having recognized Chris Andersen. I have known him since the 90's. I haven't seen him in several years and barely recognized him with his recent goatee.
Welcome back Chris........with you growing again we will all be looking over our shouders.....best of luck bud......geo.
